FAQs

How long does it take to learn to roll?

You already know how to roll. We will work together to eliminate limiting beliefs, while practicing to build your confidence, integrating the strengths and experience that you already have inside you.

Why do you teach beginners?

I truly love people, and want to help you to improve the quality of your experiences on the water, and in life. What I learned from being with the most elite athletes in the world is that fun is more important than fitness in being healthy, happy, and wise.

Do you teach beginners?

The key to learning is maintaining a beginner’s mind, and every student challenges me to understand them better so that I can help you to leverage my experience to improve yours. It is truly fun to discover new ways to improve and maximize your training time. You do not need to reinvent the wheel, but you can roll with the experience and guidance of an Olympic Kayaker.

How do I train for Class IV on Class II?

The fundamentals are the fundamentals for all of us. The first day and the last day of our practice we will improve in the same ways if we remain open to freeing our bodies and minds. Of course we offer trips to practice challenging yourself on higher classes when you are ready. So come play. . .

Where Do we meet?

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturday nights we meet in Austin on the Colorado River at MOPAC. On other days/nights we meet at my house on the sacred San Marcos Springs at 602 Interstate 35 N. San Marcos, TX.
